State Budget Lunch brings Peel community together

On Friday, 10 May 2024, the Peel Development Commission hosted a sold-out State Budget Lunch event at Peel Thunder in Mandurah, welcoming guests from across the Peel region and beyond.

Premier Roger Cook MLA delivered an insightful budget briefing to a diverse group of attendees from the business, local government, community, health, environment, and entrepreneurial sectors. The briefing was followed by very topical and region-specific questions posed from the floor during the Q&A portion of the event.

We were pleased to have Peel region local members, the Hon David Templeman MLA (our event emcee), Robyn Clarke MLA, Hugh Jones MLA, and Lisa Munday MLA, join us in engaging with the Peel community.

Peel Development Commission Chair David Doepel opened the event, and Binjareb Traditional Owner George Walley welcomed everyone to Binjareb Boodja during a heartfelt Welcome to Country. George expressed how privileged we were to meet in Mandjoogoordap and shared reflections on the region’s growth and opportunities for businesses, social, health, and environmental organisations to make a meaningful impact. George also highlighted the positive progress of Winjan Aboriginal Corporation.

The Commission would like to thank the Peel Thunder Football Club for providing a superb venue, local Peel businesses P.S.I. Audio for flawless audiovisual support, Swell Fine Food Catering for a delicious lunch, and Overland Media for professional, high-quality event photography.
