1 August 2016… The Hon Terry Redman, Minister for Regional Development, has announced applications will open on Monday 1 August 2016 for the latest round of funding through the Regional Grant Scheme (RGS) and the Community Chest Fund (CCF). Funding is provided by the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program.
RGS is aimed at projects to help attract investment, increase job opportunities and improve the quality of life in the regions, with grants from $50,001 to $300,000, with CCF supporting smaller local projects with one-off grants of up to $50,000.
Peel Development Commission Chairman Mr Paul Fitzpatrick has welcomed the announcement and highlighted the impact these grants have on regional communities in funding their priority projects.
“These schemes directly help a wide range of community and interest groups. Local entities seeking support to create strong and vibrant communities are eligible to apply for funding. Funding can also support a variety of projects as diverse as sporting club enhancement through to new public tourism infrastructure,” Mr Fitzpatrick said.
At the forums listed here, staff from the Peel Development Commission will conduct regional forums in Mandurah, Pinjarra, Dwellingup, Boddington, Waroona and Mundijong to engage with potential applicants for advice, guidance and tips on preparing a grant application in late August. Details of these regional forums will be advertised in the local media. Potential applicants are encouraged to attend these forums or consult with the Commission to discuss their proposals.
