Consul General Dewi Tobing and her key consulate personnel (Nanda Avalist, Widya Fitri and Fungsi) met with the Peel Development Commission in Mandurah on 4 June 2021 to gain a further understanding of the joint potential trade and investment opportunities available in Peel.

Australia and Indonesia have agreed on an economic framework to streamline bilateral trade opportunities between the two countries. The Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) entered into on 5 July 2020, creates an opportunity to unlock the vast potential of the bilateral economic partnership, fostering economic cooperation between businesses, communities and individuals.

Indonesia has been a growing market for Australian goods and services exporters. In 2018-19, total two-way trade in goods and services with Indonesia was worth A$17.8 billion, making Indonesia our 13th largest trading partner. The IA-CEPA will provide Australian and Indonesian businesses with an opportunity to expand and diversify this economic partnership.

More information on the IA-CEPA is available at https://www.dfat.gov.au/trade/agreements/in-force/iacepa/Pages/indonesia-australia-comprehensive-economic-partnership-agreement.
