Charles Hull contracting recently presented to the Peel Development Commission Board providing interesting insight to this long serving local business.

Charles Hull Contracting is a proudly owned Western Australian company with over 50 years experience in earthmoving, mining, civil construction, crane hire and the transport industry. They are located in a number of WA regions, but have a long history of operating here in the Peel offering a wide range of services including road construction, residue area construction, transport, plant hire, load and haul, drill and blast, crush and screen, and plant maintenance.

The business started back in 1965 when Charlie Hull, who had been operating his own bulldozer for a number of years, decided to expand his fleet and personnel to service the growing demand for his services. As the need arose, Charles Hull Contracting added scrapers to its fleet and worked on a number of metropolitan roads and subdivisions.

In the mid-1970’s, when ALCOA commenced construction of the Wagerup Refinery, Charles Hull Contracting was involved in building the original plant site. In recent years, Charles Hull Contracting has completed various projects, including the Armadale Rd – Thomas Rd Freeway Extension, Hedges Minesite Rehabilitation, McArthur River Airfield in Northern Territory, Ord River project in Kunnunurra and Residue Mud Drying Areas at Wagerup, Pinjarra and Boddington.

They are always seeking motivated and passionate individuals looking to be a part of their team, particularly in roles such as; experienced plant operators; auto electricians, boilermakers, labourers and heavy diesel mechanics. Offering a variety of apprenticeships across various maintenance facilities, Charles Hull Contracting employs directly from the local community to provide local employment for youth.
