16 December 2016…Peel Development Commission chairman Paul Fitzpatrick has welcomed the news this week that Mandurah will be one of five key regional centres to share in the $8.5 million Stage Two of the WA State Government’s Regional Centres Development Plan.

“This is a very timely and real opportunity for the Peel region,” he said. “We look forward to driving this program in partnership with the City of Mandurah and the Shire of Murray and working together to address the challenges we face, drive economic growth and build capacity in our regional centre.”

Stage Two of the Regional Centres Development Plan (RCDP) will enable Mandurah, Albany, Busselton, Carnarvon, and Kununarra to build economic partnerships and strategies with the Royalties for Regions funding of the RCDP by identifying their special economic and social strengths that will contribute to the growth of their community.

The RCDP is made possible by the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program. For more information, visit the Peel Development Commission’s website for the RCDP overview.
