Building Local Business Capability
Maximising the participation of Peel businesses in government contracting opportunities continues to be a focus for the Peel Development Commission. The Peel Local Content Adviser is delivering a series of free workshops across Peel with the first session commencing on the 25 March in Pinjarra.
The workshop series provides businesses with practical, hands-on support for accessing government procurement opportunities across the region. The information sessions will include an overview of the key projects in Peel including the Peel Business Park in Nambeelup and how businesses can connect with these opportunities.
Paddi Creevey, Board Chair of the Peel Development Commission said ‘’The Peel Local Content Advisor plays a critical role in Peel business’ awareness of and capability to participate in government procurement opportunities.
We recognise the fact that it can often be challenging for businesses to engage with the government as suppliers, so workshops like these really help to close that gap and contribute to facilitating business capability and growth.”
Andrew McKerrell, General Manager of the Peel Chamber of Commerce has also thrown his support behind the initiative, Mr. McKerrell said ‘The scheduled works on the horizon are going to be a huge game changer for Peel businesses, and these workshops are the perfect opportunity to get ready, and learn how to best position your business to get involved. We have incredible capacity in the Peel Region and now is our time to prove it!’
The Accessing Government Procurement Opportunities workshop is being delivered in partnership with the Peel Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
