The Peel Development Commission announces the appointment of Michelle Sidebottom as Community Representative on the PDC Board.

The appointment was recommended by Minister for Regional Development, Hon Alannah MacTiernan and was endorsed by Cabinet last week. The Peel Development Commission Board consists of 6 members – two ministerially appointed; two local government representatives and two community representatives.

Ms Sidebottom bring to the role strong business experience having worked in the private sector and with peak industry associations and local, State and Federal government agencies.

She is currently Managing Director of Breakaway Tourism Pty Ltd, a project management and consultancy firm specialising in the areas of tourism, hospitality, events, recreation, senior living, training and workforce development.

Ms Sidebottom’s professional experience has seen her design, develop and implement local to major State-wide business and workforce developmental projects to achieve workforce business, industry and economic development goals through the provision of excellence in service, innovation and collaboration.

She has lived and worked extensively across Australia, Japan and Malaysia but is currently a proud Peel resident and local.

PDC Board Chair, Paddi Creevey said, “We are delighted to welcome Ms Sidebottom to the Board. She will be a highly valuable asset to the Commission with her diverse set of skills, knowledge and experience and networks to complement the already important existing and future work of the Commission. With her business experience in tourism and other areas, along with her enthusiasm about the Peel region, she strengthens our Board to focus on our economy and importantly, creating jobs.”

Michelle Sidebottom also commented, “I am proud Peel resident and business owner and have been a highly vocal advocate about all the wonderful attributes of life and business in the Peel region. I believe that we are capable of strategically evolving to do things better for our community, industry and the environment for a sustainable and prosperous future here in the Peel region. I greatly look forward to working with the Commission Board in my role as Community representative”.
