The Peel Educators Forum was held in May to enable educators, career guidance officers and training providers the opportunity to hear from industry about future careers for students in the Peel region. The focus for this year’s workshop was on growth industries in the Peel and surrounding regions including agriculture, naval shipbuilding and carer services.

The event was an initiative of the Peel Capability Alliance with a purpose to provide industry relevant information to educators who can then widen the perspective of students and aid in creating pathways.   It was important to first acknowledge the good things that are already happening in Peel schools as well as asking what can we continue to do differently in terms of programs, curriculum and subject choices to meet the needs of future employers and create pathways in industries of the future.  Speakers were asked to provide the context of what we hear nationally and internationally about the future of work relates to Peel was also on the agenda.
