Board Membership – Call for nominations
The Peel Development Commission is seeking nominations to fill one community position on the Peel Development Commission Board.
The Peel Development Commission is a Statutory Authority established under the Regional Development Commissions Act 1993. Its purpose is to promote balanced economic and social development in the Peel region.
Its objectives include maximising job creation, broadening local economies, identifying the need for infrastructure and services, providing information and advice to business and ensuring equitable access to government services. The Peel Development Commission also promotes and facilitates effective partnerships between government and regional communities.
The Commission is seeking nominations from highly motivated and enthusiastic people, who can demonstrate the following:
- Involvement in the economic, social or environmental development of the region
- Strategy development and implementation
- Experience in the fields of business and industry, employment and agriculture
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and advocacy for business
- Understanding of government legislation/legislative process
- Willingness and ability to devote time and energy to the role
People may nominate themselves or others and organisations may also nominate individuals. Terms of appointment will be from one to three years. To be eligible for the community position, nominees must live in the Peel region.
The Minister for Regional Development, Hon Don Punch MLA will make the appointment to the Board after consultation with WA State Cabinet.
