The $49.3 million Transform Peel program projected to generate 33,000 regional jobs by 2050 is not impacted by federal boundary issues as it is a WA State Government project funded by Royalties for Regions.

However Peel Development Commission chairman Paul Fitzpatrick said today the Commission supported the stance that the federal Building Better Regions Fund boundaries are unsuitable for the Peel and should be realigned.

“We are a region,” said Paul Fitzpatrick. “We raised the boundaries issue at our ministerial meetings in Canberra this month and we were given an undertaking the concerns raised would be addressed.”

“We will continue to advocate for the Peel region to receive more federal grants and Royalties for Regions funding,” he said.

Transform Peel is devised, developed and delivered by the Peel Development Commission.
