The Peel Development Commission (PDC)’s Transform Peel program comprises three integrated, strategic elements:  a 42,000 ha Peel Food Zone, a 1,000 ha Peel Business Park and the Peel Integrated Water Initiative.

The best overview of Transform Peel can be gained from this newly updated 2 minute YouTube video: Transform Peel Flyover 2017.

Currently, the PDC are involved with:

– trials to secure vital water resources and reducing the nutrient flows into the estuary;

– determining the most effective land use across the various soil types within the region;

– engaging with researchers and ag-tech firms to attract innovation that will increase the efficiency of production;

– engaging with landowners and producers to ensure their aspirations for the future are considered;

– engaging with industry to understand what the jobs of the future will look like;

– engaging with education and training providers to inform the development of future teaching curricula that will ensure the job readiness of our young people.

We are driving collaboration between the private sector and all three levels of government to ensure we leverage all available resources including expertise and funding, and are driving the alignment a shared vision for the future of Peel.
